Davis Aviation is one of the world’s largest distribution networks for aviation products and services. We offer the IO-550 engine and various propeller options for your single-engine Cessna aircraft. We are a seasoned Aviation Services Company supporting you in your journey with our outstanding service before and after the sale.

Who We Are

Davis Aviation was established in 1996, after the purchase of the IO-550 STC for the Cessna 188 market. Bob Davis, owner of Bob Davis Flying Service started as a Bonaire 550 customer/operator engaged primarily in crop dusting. He became a distributor and then purchased the Cessna 188 Supplemental Type Certificates (STCs) from Bonaire Aviation Company. Davis Aviation acquired the rest of the Bonaire 550 STC line totaling 34 STCs in 1998.

Donna Jones worked with Bonaire Aviation to develop and improve the 550 STCs for the single engine Cessna line. When the STC’s were sold to Davis Aviation, she continued with Davis Aviation.

Davis Aviation personnel have more than 70 years combined experience in aviation services. Recognized worldwide as one of the largest stand alone STC conversion companies in the aviation industry.

The Davis Aviation line includes engine/propeller upgrades for some of the most popular Cessna models, including the Cessna 185, 188, 206, 207, T206 deturbo and T207 deturbo. Prop options for use with the IO-550 engine change include a variety of Hartzell, McCauley, or MT propeller choices. Many of those same models are offered as prop-only STC upgrade for use with your existing engine. Those same models can normally be used with the engine change at a later time.

Bob Davis is the Founder and President of Davis Aviation. Established in 1997 with the Bonaire 550 conversion for the Cessna 188, Davis Aviation came as a result of Bob Davis Flying Service starting out as a Bonaire 550 customer/operator. Bob brings decades of experience as an operator to support your Cessna engine upgrade needs.

Donna Jones

Donna Jones is Vice President/STC Sales and Service for Davis Aviation. She previously worked with Bonaire Aviation and helped develop the original Bonaire STCs. Donna brings decades of experience to leading Davis Aviation’s custom Cessna engine upgrade services.

The Davis conversion to the Continental 550 with the Black Mac 88″ prop was the the best investment I have and could have made to my 1976 Cessna 185. The plane with is now turbine smooth, the performance is night and day difference. On floats especially it is almost instantly on the step upon full application of power, where as the old engine would chew up a significant amount of water trying to achieve same results. I am able to operate in smaller lakes with a larger safety margin than before. In cruise with the power pulled back to 22.5″ squared I see the same fuel burn I did with my Continental 520. I could not be happier. Donna Jones was great to work with, she made all the coordination through my mechanic shop and the installation / shipping to Alaska was painless.

Just wanted to give you an update on the Skydive Fargo plane. They are very happy with the climb performance behind the new engine. They are able to take a full load of 5 jumpers up to 12k almost as quick as the 182 with a 550, 3 blade prop, and extended wings can take 4 jumpers up. It for sure made a big difference from the tired run out 520 they had on there. Thanks again for all of your help with the swap!

I finally flew 9385N this weekend and what a treat. The engine prop combination on the Skywagon is absolutely silky smooth. Both times up Trued at 160 knots at 25 squared at 18.5 GPH.
