Cessna T206 Conversion
Engine upgrades available for all Cessna T206 aircraft from serial number 0001 and subsequent including TP206 series and TU206 series (through TU206G). (T206H models are not included). Designed for the aircraft owner to remove his existing turbo charged TSIO-520 and replace it with the normally aspirated IO-550 F engine. This upgrade allows the customer to maintain the service ceiling of the standard 206 and get away from the expensive maintenance of the turbo charged system. Same STC propeller kit package supplied as with the 206 STC with a “deturbo” parts package added including additional induction and exhaust parts required to deturbo the aircraft. There are 2 exhaust options. Either option modifies the induction system with other parts to use existing exhaust system or another option to replace it with a standard exhaust. The early model T206s may require some additional changes not needed on the later model aircraft.
Davis Aviation provides a propeller kit package for your convenience including new propeller, spinner assembly, tachometer, MP/FF gauge, silicone baffling, shock mounts, standard hoses firewall forward (fire sleeving included if requested), miscellaneous hardware, placards and STC paperwork. (Extra prop only STC paperwork included if prop option is installed under different STC). If you have a compatible propeller, we can do a partial kit package without the propeller and spinner. Deturbo package (exhaust option #1 or #2) added to the 206 package
If you are not ready for an engine but need a propeller now, we can offer propeller only option that is compatible with the 550 engine at a later time (in most cases). The remainder of the IO-550 upgrade can be purchased, as you approach TBO, to complete the performance modification. Basically making the conversion in installments.
IO-550 Conversion Improvements:
- Avoid expensive turbo charged maintenance expense
- Removes extra weight from the turbo charged system
- Standard McCauley 402 Propeller can be used with the IO-550 F engine (with blade angle change
- Engine produces within 200 inch lbs of the TSIO-520 C or M
- 15% More Horsepower at Cruise.
- At normal altitudes, will perform as well if not better than the TSIO-520 installation
